Committees and Task Forces

Executive Committee:  The Executive Committee is a standing committee comprised of the President, President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer and, as such, is responsible for the overall operation of the organization. This Committee may be tasked to perform specific functions for the organization as designated by the Board. The President is the Chair of this Committee. 

Membership Committee:  The Membership Committee is a standing committee and shall be responsible for recruitment campaigns, advocate for the needs of members and maintains a database or similar mechanism to track membership and prospects. This committee shall provide a report for every Board meeting citing the number of members by category, renewals and monies collected. The Board will elect a Director to serve as an ex-officio member of this Committee.

Nominating Committee:
  The Nominating Committee shall consist of members of the general membership as well as the Executive Committee, with equal representation from both groups. The Board shall seek volunteers from “members in good standing” to serve on the Nominating Committee. If there are insufficient volunteers from the general membership, the balance of the Nominating Committee shall be filled by members of the Board. After deliberations, the Nominating Committee shall present its nominations for the Director positions to the Board, for presentation to the general membership for a vote.

Finance & Compliance Committee:  The Treasurer is the Chair of this Committee. This Committee is responsible for managing all the financial tasks for the organization, as designated in the bylaws, or other tasks as may be necessary in managing the financial legal affairs of the organization.

Senior Relations Committee:  A member in good standing will chair this committee which is responsible for introducing and growing the sport to players that have reached the age of retirement. The committee will consist of members and volunteers tasked to develop programs tailored to the senior community, will identify groups of seniors, facilitate interaction, and generate opportunities for recreational play, leagues and tournaments that address the skills and interests of this subculture.

Youth Development Committee:  A member in good standing will chair this Committee and will be tasked developing pickleball programs with school age girls and boys through in-school activities in concert with the Clark County School District as well as parent driven out-of-school activities such as leagues and tournaments geared exclusively for youth.

Veterans Programming Committee:  A member in good standing will chair this Committee which will be responsible for introducing the sport of pickleball to veterans of all military branches who may need rehabilitative or adaptive services.

Community Affairs Committee:  A member in good standing will chair this Committee. This Committee is responsible for accomplishing all the operational and logistical tasks necessary to manage pickleball leagues, tournaments and any special events sponsored or supported by the organization. This committee will advocate to improve conditions that affect the quality of pickleball play at public facilities by networking with municipal agencies, representatives, and officials.

Player Development Committee: A member in good standing will chair this Committee. This committee will serve the needs of player development and education. The Committee will promote or establish programs for non-players or enthusiasts to become players. In addition, the Committee will help novice or recreational players to advance and perform at more competitive levels by facilitating a series of activities.

Communications Committee:  A member in good standing will chair this Committee. This Committee will be responsible for developing, updating, disseminating, and monitoring the organization’s social presence through all media outlets and manage related software applications.

Sponsorship Committee:  A member in good standing will chair this Committee and shall be responsible for maintaining a database or similar mechanism to track sponsors, donors, and prospects. The Sponsorship Committee will coordinate fund raising activity for the organization. This committee shall provide a report for every Board meeting citing the number of sponsors and monies collected. The Treasurer will be an ex official member of this committee.
